Saints reserves flexed their muscles down the stretch Friday night, obvious bench-strength improvements on defense and running back certainly complement the NFL’s most prolific offense looking toward the upcoming 2010 campaign. Leigh Torrence’s and Chris Ivory’s fourth quarter fireworks shattered the Chargers’ dreams of a happy Big Easy ending. That won’t be the case for the thousands of black leather clad visitors (accented by purple and powder blue feathers) prancing through the Vieux Carre this Labor Day weekend. Enterprising Marigny and Bywater lads who took advantage shake-weight TV offers will see the Fruits of Labor come to fruition during the annual Southern Decadence extravaganza. In this week’s edition the Section 645 Saints Beat, Big Daddy celebrates Ben Sherman’s 40th Birthday, second lines at Parasol’s, reports from Section 645, recaps the San Diego game, remembers Hurricane Katrina, and releases his World Famous Pregame Information.

This past Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys traveled to Lincoln Financial Field to play the Philadelphia Eagles in what was a win and you’re in the playoffs game.  This game had a lot of build-up prior kick-off.  The Eagles found out, about 15 minutes before the game started, that the stars had aligned for them; the Bears and Buccaneers had both lost.  This game had everything football fans wanted.  It was the ‘Boys against the Birds, with their playoff destinies on the line.

Big Daddy celebrated the Saints’ long overdue ground attack Sunday by devouring shredded dirty bird. This edition of Big Daddy’ s Saints Beat, covers last weekend’ s 2nd Congressional District Election, recaps the Atlanta game, provides an in-game report from Section 645, asks Coach Payton to stay balanced, honors an old friend, and gives out his World Famous Pregame Information.

Each week, on Friday, I will look into my (never wrong, just misinformed) crystal ball and give my predictions for that weekend games.  I will always prognosticate on the Eagles and Cowboys games and then pick two more games of interest (to me, that is, not necessarily to you).  Keep in mind, that this is for entertainment purposes only, and that I do not endorse any sort of legal or illegal gambling.  That being said…let’s see what’s in my crystal ball!

Last night, we lost another star to the pre-season. Antawn Jamison went down with a knee injury after playing only 4 mins. Which begs the question why do we need a pre-season anyway. Now the Washin

Yesterday, the Eagles lost another heartbreaker to a division foe, the Washington Redskins, 23-17.  The Eagles stand at 2-3 and in 4th (last) place in their division.  They have now lost two division (3 conference) games…and that does not bode well for play-off considerations.  Though it’s still early in the season…the sky may be falling!

The Crying Game pt. 2

Hello NFL fans,

Here we are again with the on going drama that is the Valley of the Departed, or as you know them, the Dallas Cowboy fan base. You see after the critically acclaimed article The TO Story, there was only one thing I could do, make a crappy sequel! This sequel would not have been if not for the despicable actions of the Dallas Cowgirls and their equally brain dead fan base.

You let me know what is bothering you, football wise, since I am not a therapist. I post it on my weekly article and hopefully help relieve the stress in your life. I have received even more feedback since the last two Blasts. You guys are giving me great ammo to continue putting your opinions out there.

It seems as if losing is not the only problem the rams have right now.  The benching of Marc Bulger has caused quite a stir amongst the team.  Steven Jackson was quoted as saying that it was
